An ink and watercolor from earlier in the year, inspired by an evocative photographic portrait that caught my eye. I painted her, leaving my own touches within the lines of her. I’ve repainted her several times as there were things about her (overzealous ink work…oh, so unforgiving;) that have bothered my eye from the beginning…and yet this version, the first, still my favorite, flaws and all.

Floating her into the stream for #portraitnovember ~

Mariposa Fabric Collection has Launched ~

As I do from time to time, taking a brief intermission from my usual art related posts here to share my latest art licensing news.

My third fabric collection, Mariposa, was launched last month at Fall Quilt Market and has now been shipped to retail stores across the US and Europe. I’ve been waiting patiently;) The fabric swatches arrived last week and I was finally able to photograph them. You can see more of Mariposa on my art licensing blog . It’s a very exciting time in my studio…many new opportunities at hand and some really thrilling news to share with you, soon:)

Always a pleasure to share my newest product lines and collections and show a bit more of what I do… ~

A Wonder…

Can’t tell you how many times I have watched this video over the last year…It’s a wonder and one of those magic things that gives me goosebumps…every single time.

And for your listening pleasure, here, the full song…lovely, particularly so, in the early morning hours when the day is just beginning to unfold…

Such possibility ~

Deep Within The Garden of Her Heart…

Deep Within The Garden of Her Heart...

I painted this last year. At the time, although the title came instantly to me, I couldn’t find the words to give context to the painting. I tried again today, sat for a long while with pen in hand (yes, is how I usually write my artist statements, …a series of words on paper…old school;) and yet, to my surprise, I found that the words are still forming for this one…so I will have to honor that for now.

But… Tell me, what do you see and feel….?
